About Me

I am a stay-at-home mom of six and an Air Force spouse and next to my family, my passion is design. Due to a series of unfortunate events I was unable to build the dream home I’d been designing for 30 years. Instead we found another beautiful house. This is my journey to transform that house into our forever home.

Living in a LOT of houses as we traveled the globe I often had to make do with what was available, but it also provided practical interior and exterior design experience and I learned what works - and more importantly - what doesn’t. In addition to practical experience, I am also excited to be getting close to my BFA in Interior Architecture & Design from Academy of Art University.

I like nice things but I’m also notoriously thrifty and not above doing it myself, yard sale shopping, or waiting for bargains…but I also recognize there are times to strategically splurge. Sometimes it is to ensure that I am getting a quality product, or that little extra gives a design just the right amount of “wow”.

Finally, I don’t like being locked into a particular style, so I guess you could say my style is “a little of this, a little of that.” I like rooms to be bright and airy and I lean toward traditional design for my own house because I have collected a lot of antiques and other pieces over the years, but I love to mix rustic and refined, old and new. A few modern finishes and straight lines add contrast to traditional forms. Each and every item I add to the mix is chosen carefully for the value it adds to the overall design, or because of it’s personal meaning to me. They just have to play well together. Every piece should be selected and evaluated so that a home tells a story. Welcome to my curated home!
